I wonder why megumi kudo and manami toyota never fought?
They had many opprotunities, they had two tag matches against each other. I wonder what kind of match that would have turned out to be. Both of them in there prime. Well luckily with an N64 and no mercy i can create them both and put them against each other.
Would you make it a death match or standard match? I'd have to give the edge to Toyota, because I think she is the much better technical wrestler. Kudo driver vs. Japanese Ocean Suplex... great stuff.
Kudo driver is such a sick move. Manami definetly has more moves, holds you name it. They both had heart, kick out of everything. It would probably go over the 30 minute mark for sure.
It's difficult what match it would be. Id like to see the technical side, and what they would pull off. Then again hardcore plus technical would be great also. Would be hard to choose which one to put your money on also. Or it could be an iron man match.... Well in this case iron woman match. That would have been special.
But they did wrestle against each other. I saw clips of it on the Megumi Kudo "Anthology" video. It took place before their tag team match-ups. In the end, Toyota came out the winner of that match. Still, I would like to see Kudo return, one day, and wrestle Toyota again
That match took place before either were really good, Kudo had only just got back into wrestling after AJW let her go because she wasn't progress as fast as the thought she would. And Toyota was no where near as good as she would become later.
I think what Revolution was talking about as a singles match when both were at their peak.
A Kudo Vs Toyota match would have been awesome to watch! It wouldn't need to be a Deathmatch as both ladies have good mat wrestling and high-flying ability.
The 8/4/90 match is NOT a Megumi Kudo vs. Manami Toyota match!!!!!
The 8/4/90 match is Megumi Kudo vs. Combat Toyoda.
Megumi Kudo and Manami Toyota only worked against each other in tag team matches on 4/2/93 (AJW DreamSlam I) and 5/5/93 (FMW 4th anniversary show). The DreamSlam match was fairly disappointing, but I was probably expecting too much. And I think I'm going to order the FMW match soon.
Anyway, a Megumi Kudo vs. Manami Toyota singles match would have been very interesting. I think one of the reasons that it never took place was the same reason that Kudo was pulled out of the "five star" tournament for the Bigg Egg Wrestling Universe (11/20/94). FMW didn't want Kudo to lose in an interpromotional singles match at a major show. Another reason could have been that AJW was more interested in working interpromotional matches with JWP. So they probably made no real effort to book the match.

I will write reviews in my other topic. But i recieved my japan women wrestling tape today. And i have to say manami is a great wrestler, but she can be very sloppy. Megumi does her moves perfectly or she doesn't do them at all. And in a manami match she usually spends most of the match gettin her butt kicked. So I will have to say, id put my money on megumi. I think she'd come out the winner.
Toyota has this problem, she doesn't always think about what she's going to do before doing it. Sometimes it works out well, and sometimes it results in a blown spot. These blown spots can sometimes ruin the momentum of the match.
Kudo isn't perfect either, but you are right, I have never seen her blow a spot before either, but that doesn't mean she hasn't, of course with the limited competition she had in FMW, even a blown spot from her looks better than what the others usually do.
I personally feel that AJW should have tried to steal Kudo back from FMW, I think she would have been a good boost for them when they were having trouble. I think she would have been a great choice for WWWA champion instead of Hotta, I don't think Hotta should have ever gotten that title, she was never champion material.
