    Favorite Joshi Wrestlers?

I'm pretty new to Joshi overall, and looking for some tape recommendations. I had a Cuty Suzuki comp before my old VCR ate it and Kudo's stuff from the commercial FMW DVDs. Who else would you guys recommend and any specific events or comps to look for?

AJW DREAMSLAM (1993): arguably the best Joshi show of all time.
For more current stuff, you can't go wrong with ARSION...

As for my favorite joshi wrestlers, I enjoy watching:

    Takako Inoue
    Akira Hokuto
    Candy Okutsu
    Mayumi Ozaki
    Sakie Hasegawa
    Bull Nakano
    Ayako Hamada
    KAORU
    Kaoru Itoh
    Manami Toyota
    Mima Shimoda
    Chigusa Nagayo

    hope that helps.......

    a-ha, yes Hisa-san!

Kandori vs. Hokuto from Dreamslam, possibly the greatest Joshi match of ALL time!

On a side note, I ordered an LLPW tape, and it featured a section about the LLPW wrestlers vacationing...like on the beach.
Shinobu Kandori in a bathing suit scarred me for life....

But seriously, we shouldn't rate Joshi workers for their looks....ability should be the deciding factor.

I haven't seen much joshi outside of Arsion, but, being a pretty big Arsion fan, my favourite workers there are Akino (now known as noki-A) and Ai Fujita.

AJW DREAMSLAM should be pre-requisite viewing for any joshi fan, or aspiring joshi fan.
    You will not be dissapointed.

Thanks for the suggestions. The first thing I'm going to get is Dreamslam. Anyone here want to trade? I don't have much Joshi but I do have a lot of wrestling tapes. A friend of mine brought over some Hamada stuff last night and she is amazing. Anyone who wants to trade some ARISON tapes let me know...

    Top Ten

Here is my Top 10 in today's joshi world...

1...Kaoru Ito...WWWA champion, good worker, strong champion, can make the young girls look good and hang with the top women. Over the past year she has been the best.

2...Kaoru...coming into her own in Gaea...she has been impressive over the past 9 months.

3...Meiko Satomura...AAAW champion, finally beat Aja, good technician with great kicks, but I hate her finisher, the shining kakato.

4...Lioness Asuka...like her or not (and i hate her politics), she is consistent in having good matches.

5...Manami Toyota...not what she once was, due to her body wearing down and getting in worse shape, but watch for her to win the WWWA title on 2/24 and rise back to the top.

6...Ayako Hamada...stuck in the middle of nowhere right now, but she has the skills...I hope she finds a place soon...

7...Kumiko Maekawa...Great as a heel, great worker who is only getting better.

8...Azumi Hyuga...Fantastic, that's all i can say about Hyuga. she just keeps getting better.

9...Chikayo Nagashima...This woman is probably the best techinican on this list, she is fabulous and she is young, with many years left...she will only get better.

10...Akino/noki-A....The best high flyer there is in joshi today.

Jaguar Yakota is/was pretty good too, with those kicks and that ultra cool Cross Arm Sitdown Thunder Fire Powerbomb!

Oh dude, it always has, always will and always be my better half, Ayako Hamada. She got the looks (I got the picture of her dressed in grunge gear..... WOW), she's got the charisma and above all else she's got the talent. She uses one of my favourite holds of all time, the Ayakonoclasm (sp?). She's just wonderful.

She's swell, as Chandler Bing would say

I can't believe no one mentioned Dump Matsumoto

Easily the most compelling figure ever in Joshi.
When she was in the ring, it was pure chaos.
The second hair match vs Chigusa is one of the most heated shows I've ever seen.

Dump Matsumoto was a killer heel, thats for sure. But I always seemed to like her protege, Bull Nakano, better.
