-NWF HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE TOURNAMENT, SEMIFINAL: Tadao Yasuda vs. Tsuyoshi Kosaka
-IWGP JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Winner of Koji Kanemoto/Tiger Mask IV vs. Heat
-Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Manabu Nakanishi (may or may not be for the GHC heavyweight title)
-Yuji Nagata vs. Kazuyuki Fujita (ditto for the IWGP heavy).
Man, now Misawa has a good excuse to give himself another title. And what about Nagata? I really hope it's payback time, but then again, you never know...
Kensuke Sasaki faces UFO/Makai Club's Kazunari Murakamai, Murakami's return to in-ring action after time in Brazil with the Brazilain Top Team and Kensuke's return from injury (looks like Sasaki's match with Minoru Suzuki has been moved to a Pancrase show some time in the future).
And, in horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE news, JOANIE LAURER IS MASAHIRO CHONO'S OPPONENT.
This is just sickening.
Also, some news out about the Triathlon Survivor tournament that's running in place of the G1 Tag League. Teams of three face each other in three matches; a standard six man tag, a singles match between two chosen individuals, and a tag between teams of two.
A singles win is worth one point, as is a tag, and the six-man tag win is worth two points.
There will be a heavyweight and junior version of this concept on the tour.
Latest news is that Chono wants a stipulation added to the match: If he wins, Laurer will never set foot in New Japan again. He Laurer wins, she gets a shot at the IWGP heavyweight title. This just gets scarier every day.
In some other New Japan related news, US indie worker Jason Castro has been added to the October tour; he works mainly for the EWF in California. Anybody here want to offer an opinionon him?
He'll be joining American Dragn and the Havana Pitbulls on the tour; Revolution Pro's Excalibur turned down an offer to work the tour.
As the pessimist who just seems to keep getting proven right, I feel the need to point out that I said Inoki would put it in a match for the IWGP Title, maybe even give it the title to try to get into America. Little does he realize no one in America would buy Chyna as a champion. How would that make your company look, when Chyna is the "best" you have to offer?
Might I make a last minute suggestion, change Chono vs. Chyna to Scott Steiner vs. Chyna. Scott wouldn't put her over for anything, and it would be a lot of fun to watch.
