Nagata defeats Yasuda one year to the day he beat him for the title

Exactly a year ago today (April 5, 2003), Yuji Nagata defeated Tadao Yasuda to win the IWGP Heavyweight title. Earlier today, he defeated Yasuda once more to retain the same title.

Nagata has had a year long reign now, and a month from today he faces NWF Champion Yoshihiro Takayama in a title match.

Congrats, Yuji...when this is all said and done, he just may be the greatest IWGP champ ever...

Dude, what are you talking about?... that match isn't until 4/23.

And it isn't in the bag that he will win it. He is 1-1 with Yasuda in title matches.

Sorry for mis-informing everyone, I guess this post should be deleted.

I know what you're talking about. Strong Style did have a post of Nagata v. Yasuda but they were putting up last year's match where Nagata started his reign.

Well I doubt that Yasuda will be a 2 time champ... That would really be a killer for the title... Go Nagata!
