I just heard Tiger Mask IV vacated the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title but haven't heard why, so does anyone here know why? Is he injured or something?

Tiger Mask moved towards vacating the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title yesterday after his successful V4 defense against old rival, Dick Togo. He seems unhappy with how the match with Katsushi Takemura turned out (a short DQ), and declared that he would put the belt up for grabs in the Super Jr. New Japan Rumble at the Tokyo Dome. It isn't quite official yet, as Tiger has to receive approval from Kengo Kimura before he can hand the title back. If so, the Tokyo Dome junior match just became much more important, as ten men will fight it out for one prize. There is also a teaser that a major shake-up in the division may happen in that match, with some alignment changes. There has been some talk of Dick Togo joining Ikuto Hidaka in New Japan, but nothing as strong as Hidaka to New Japan.


A rumble for the Junior title, sounds kinda of fun.

Why the heck would he vacate? That makes no sense!

He should just put it out for grabs in the rumble!

All they wanna do is make the Junior rumble more important for the big show, but still, he doesn't have to vacate it!

I think it is backstage politics. I understand you want to build up a wrestler or faction, but to have a match end like that in a DQ? If I want to see a match like that, I'd watch RAW, Smackdown of TNA. So I think T.M. IV did the right thing.
