New IWGP Title Belt?

I believe the title history of the IWGP belt on this site does have a picture of it.

BTW Fujita's using the old belt that Inoki gave him.

The one of the right (his left) is the newest one. The one on the left is the older one, I've seen as recently as Shinya Hashimoto using the old one (the one KazFuj is using now). I'm not too sure when the new one came about. BTW the picture is from Fujita's 1st reign.

THe new crown style belt has been replaced. AS Inoki plans to move into the future and complete his vision of what New Japan should be he replaced it with the jewel laden original?

I believe the crown style version was introduced back in 1997 when Scott Norton defeated Yuji Nagata for the vacant belt.

My brother and I were trying to figure it out last night. I think it was then too b/c I remember Norton showing up on WCW with the IWGP (and suprise suprise they didn't make that much of a stink about him being champ; he was just so proud to wear it). Like I said the last one I actually saw wearing it was Hashimoto. Does anyone know exactly when the crown style came around. Was it Fujinami? Chono? or Norton?
