    10/24 Strong Conviction

This show is going to be in Kobe. Kawada is scheduled to return since his last voyage to NJ three years ago. This card is suprisingly better (IMO) than the highly anticipated 10/9 show. There is going to be a tag tournament to find who the number 1 contenders are for the IWGP tag titles. The card is as follows:

    1. 2/3 Falls: Ryusuke Taguchi, Hirooki Goto, Katsuhiko Nakajima & Taiji Ishimori vs. Jushin Thunder Liger, Jado, Gedo & Katsushi Takemura
    2. Togi Makabe & Yujiro vs. El Samurai & Wataru Inoue
    3. Osamu Nishimura & Tiger Mask vs. Scott Norton & James Gibson
    4. Yuji Nagata & Blue Wolf vs. Manabu Nakanishi & Minoru Suzuki
    5. Toru Yano vs. Super Love Machine
    6. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. American Dragon
    7. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Heat (c) vs. Koji Kanemoto
    8. President Hoshino ¥10,000,000 Offer Tag Tournament - Semi Final: Masahiro Chono & Katsuyori Shibata vs. Genichiro Tenryu & Kensuke Sasaki
    9. President Hoshino ¥10,000,000 Offer Tag Tournament - Semi Final: Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Toshiaki Kawada & Mitsuya Nagai
    10. President Hoshino ¥10,000,000 Offer Tag Tournament - Final:

Tanahashi vs. American Dragon WILL be the match of the night. I can't wait. Again... Nagata is stuck at the bottom of the card but, this tag tournament has potential to be an AWESOME showing for NJ. I am predicting that Kawada/Nagai and Chono/Shibata will meet. You will see a finish where shibata pins kawada and that sets up for a one on one between the two.

    Credit goes to SSS.

i never why understood why high flyers are teamed with huge clods. norton & noble? who came up with that? i mean, vader & scorpio, i never saw them in action to be honest, but that combination sent shivers down my spine... i think this will be way worse

    Thumbs up

This IS a good looking card. I'm picking Shibata/Chono to go over Kawada/Nagai in the tourney final. Shibata will get a fluke pin on Kawada to build to their singles match. Should that match be for the Triple Crown? He challenged for the IWGP earlier this year and a good showing against Kawada in a title match would really skyrocket him to future success. Even though, this is still a good card. Tanahashi/A. Dragon WILL steal the show.

I agree with naturalbornmaster. THis could be a good spot to elevate Shibata.

Man the company is doing well with their 3 new musketeers!

I am really liking the new musketeers the more I watch and hear about them. I think its awesome how similar they are to the original musketeers and other past stars. You have Shibata, the scum heel like Chono or Choshu(character wise). You have Tanahashi who is just an overall great wrestler like Mutoh and Fujinami and you have Nakamura who is the real "fighter" like Hashimoto and Inoki. These guys are gonna be big stars just as long as they are booked well. I think they need to have a true generations war against the original musketeers and the Nagata and Tenzan generation. Tenzan or Nagata needs to beat Fujita and have to be constantly fighting the musketeers and then finally in a couple years lose to one of them and start a new NJ era. I'm just waiting in anticipitation for Mutoh vs Tanahashi, Shibata vs Kawada, Shibata vs Chono, and all the other interesting matchups yet to come. Good job on these guys NJ. Just don't screw it up.

I really cant wait for tanahashi vs. dragon. No doubt who is winning but that wont stop me from watching. I can just see them trading half hatch suplexes and stiff forearms (were they trade them until tanahashi hits the ropes and hits his patented flying forearm!)

The title does need to come off of Fujita. I understand he needed to win the title after beating the crap out of Sapp. But the title needs to be on Tenzen now (& should have been after the G1). Fujita v. Sasaki? Neither of these two are true NJ right now. Just like NBM said the title matches needs to be contended by Chono, Nagata, Nakamura, Shibata, Tanahashi, & Tenzen. You have future stars and current stars. Get the focus off of MMA & shooters and get the attention back onto puroresu.

Wishful thinking but it is less and less likely. Fujita WILL lose the title to either Tenzan or Chono but i dont see the company just leaving the MMA environment. It is TOO popular to not try and cash in on it. I wish it would happen but it wont.

BTW, anyone know where takayama is? I thought i read somewhere that he had a stroke but i am not sure.

Takayama did indeed have a stroke on 8/8. He is currently in light training and no timetable is set for his return.
