I stumbled across an article on SSS. It said that nagata was nervous that tenzan was going to turn on him. Here is the full article.
Yuji Nagata is in a very paranoid state going into the 10/1 Korakuen and 10/9 Sumo Hall shows, admitting that he doesn't fully trust regular army leader, Hiroyoshi Tenzan. Nagata became suspicious at Tenzan when he (Tenzan) held an autograph session at Chono's stronghold, ARISTRIST, which Nagata found very strange. With Chono bringing back old Team 2000 ally, Don Frye, on 10/9, Nagata is musing about whether Tenzan will remember the old days and betray him in the "full conclusion" tag match. Furthermore, adding more fuel to the fire, Nagata said that Tenzan has grown out the back of his hair again lately, like when he was a Team 2000 member.
I am predicting a swerve. No way they have tenzan turn on nagata after his huge push to the top. I could see it going the other way for sure though. Nagata is one of the most popular guys but a heel turn so that tenzan and he could fued would be GREAT for both guys' careers.
I can just picture it! Nagata turns on Tenzan, joins Chono & Frye and beat him down. This could be the debut of the Killer Heel Nagata angle, a bit like Hardcore Akiyama...
Nagata is like Angle is this aspect as Angle is a better heel worker. I wonder how Nagata would do. We've all seen Mr. Saiyko but how good would a bad Nagata be...? He would be down-right sick as a wreslter. A heel Nagata title reign would be nice too.

I am interested in the direction they're going with right now...heel Nagata would be cool.
I have lot all my respect for my namesake...there I would like to be known as WilliamsFan from now on...I feel disgraced with the name of Edge on me...
Here is my assessment of the situation. If this NJ is heading towards good vs. bad again... bad better be finding some help. It looks like chono, shibata, CTU vs. tenzan, nagata, tanahashi, nakamura, heat, kanemoto, and tiger mask. That looks pretty one sided to me. So somebody is going to have to jump ship to the bad guys. It wont be heat, tenzan, kanemoto, or tiger. That leaves nakamura, tanahashi, and nagata. With tanahashi and nakamura on the same page and hating shibata... that leaves one man. NAGATA, he would be the perfect heel to help lead up behind chono. The only other heels available for chono are frye and norton and nakanishi. Thats just my opinion though.
"Killer" Nagata looks set to return on 10/9 at Sumo Hall. Nagata has been training hard at one of kickboxing's top facilities, the Ihara Dojo, and has said he will use a Thai-style elbow strike "banned from K-1" that will be so dangerous, it will tear apart the opponent's face instantly and rattle his brain. Nagata also hinted at removing his kneepads and shin-guards, and throwing unprotected knees to Chono's face. The Yuji Nagata who goes beserk has been stopped by nobody. Not one man has been able to beat this Nagata, the match against Murakami where he threw nine kneelifts in a row and ended up knocking the bloody Murakami out, one of the most memorable scenes of Nagata's dark side. Nagata threw a fearless smile, saying he would be a human weapon and would tear apart Chono's flesh.

This could be the chance for it to happen. Come on nagata... swerve us all and join the black new japan. oh and the reason he should join is because he wouldnt be seen as weak. If he and Chono are co leaders of this group he is seen in a high form... but if he is just an independent bad guy, he has no allies or anything to make this fued more interesting. Either way a bad nagata would be awesome.
If Nagata turns heel, it will open up a whole lot of new feuds and storylines and maybe give him a shot at the IWGP again. I don't see him getting another shot in the near future as a babyface. I think he will turn though and I can't wait.
No matter what troubles you have, always love life and live in triumph.
Nagata as a face doesn't have much going, as he's fallen in ranks. Tenzan is now the clear cut leader of the faces, and ones could say that Nakamura & Tanahashi are 2 & 3, or will be soon.
But as a heel, he could be right on top. Chono is always #1, but not for title matches... Nagata could get a title run defeating Fujita or defeating Tenzan once he defeats Fujita.
