He wrestled on the 10/14/02 Dome show as a part of the Inoki Army. He actually beat Tenzen. I saw the match and the guy wasn't that bad a wrestler just stuck with a dumb gimmick. He was supposed to challenge Chono & Tenzen for the Tag straps (with Chyna) but he injured his knee and was replaced by Great Kabuki.

It was a bad idea from NJ that didn't last long.

He was only there for a few months and the gimmick doed because of injury. This was caused by the real Keiji Mutoh / Great Muta leaving NJ to go to AJ.

    american muta...

American Muta injured his knee and has made full recovery from an ACL tear's and torn quads. I would hope that they bring him back and more of the other greats like Rick Steiner "the Dog-Faced Gremlin" and Chyna. Now that would have been a great six man team! Maybe NJPW will bring back this great talent in the near future. I should hope so!

Keiji Muta had his day and those days are long past. Ultimo Dragon? Puuuuuu-lease! He wouldn't have a chance against the American Muta. The AM is 6' 3"
and 260lbs. and NOT a fat OLD man.not to mention he would destroy most of the competition that has remained in NJPW. I just wish that guy would come back to New Japan! It's hard to be a COPY when you BREAK the mold!

His problem is the gimmick. Call him something else because everyone will think of Keiji Mutoh if NJ calls him GREAT MUTA...

I hate to break it to you, but nWo Sting/Super J is WAY better than the real Sting. Check out his stuff from NJ, highly recommended in a "holy crap this guy can really go" kind of way. I got the Best of Super J tape from Goldenboy awhile ago and was super impressed. He should be the new MUTA.

If you say Jeff Farmer is way better than the real Sting you have to mean in size and ability (wrestling only). But it would be totally irresponsible of you to say he is BETTER better than the real Sting.

Steve Borden has WAY more charisma and appeal than Jeff Farmer. I really do think you mean wrestling ability. But as far as getting a crowd interested I would ALWAYS go with Steve Borden. There is no way you can tell me NWO Sting/Super J is really, truely better than Sting.

Both of you guys made valid points.

Farmer & Borden are both good wrestlers.
Borden had the charisma, and made it big in the states on not much ring ability.

Farmer can work well, was good in NJ, but failed in the states due to not making it when opportunity came his way.

I agree, Farmer was stuck with a lame gimmick in WCW (Cobra). The only was he got any heat was impersonating Sting.

New Japan's American Great Muta wasn't bad, but there is another American Great Muta who wrestles for All Japan, LOL
