    U-30 title vacant

Shinsuke Nakamura vacated the I.W.G.P. U-30 Open-weight Title on 2005/05/01. New champ will be determined during the BOSJ XII tour (not actually in the BOSJ tournament, of course).

Nakamura initially announced he would abandon the title right after he won it from Hiroshi Tanahashi on 2005/01/04, but New Japan office hadn't had any response since then.

I think that this is a good move. Tanahashi was build up using this title, it could be used in the same way with other young lions

Nakamura said the title almost sends the message that "wrestlers under 30 can't wrestle for the Heavyweight title."

Well Tanahashi and himself are both under 30 and did wrestle for the Main title.

I don't agree with him. I like the U-30 title to push young wrestlers. Once they spend some time as champ they basically will be more accepted as serious challengers for the IWGP Heavyweight title.

I also agree. Give the belt to Yano, Goto or Tagucchi let them run with the belt.

I say give it to Yano and design a custom belt for him that somehow heats and pours sake all by itself. I would be the first one to buy that replica belt when it comes out.
