Antonio Inoki has fired New Japan President Masakazu Kusama . The leading candidates to take his job is Simon Inoki & Masahiro Chono. The new president will be decided at the shareholders meeting on the 26th. The main reason for Kusama's dismissal is his Dome show record. Which has been horrendous.
Kusama commented on the news of him being fired. He said that he hadn't heard anything about it. It came out of the blue, so to speak. He criticized Inoki for breaking the news in the media. Instead of talking to him directly. Kusama sounded angry when giving the interview. There's nothing like getting fired in the media.
This is quite a shock. Their last Dome show posting a dissapointed gate figure but they also mentioned that they started to use 'real' numbers. He was such an critical part of the Italian tour it seems strange he won't be around for it.

Simon did such a GREAT job translating for Liger during his shoot interview that daddy must have thought "he's the best man for the job, fo sheezy." Unless I've been misinformed, assuming his old man votes for him, Simon won't need a whole lot of other support to become President. Not that it really matters, since Chono is rectally attached to Inoki, at least when they make appearances in public. Maybe this will somehow lead to New Japan doing something with Josh Barnett when he's cleared to wrestle, but I doubt it.
I have lot all my respect for my namesake...there I would like to be known as WilliamsFan from now on...I feel disgraced with the name of Edge on me...
Aside from the fact that it is "news" - yes, I care.
Kusama was the one who wanted a 'New Japan: World' approach. He is the one who made the deal with the Italian tour. I also think it is suprising that he wasn't given all that much time to do his job. But it always comes down to "who you know not what you know."
