Brock Lesnar: The Next Big Genius

Has anyone else read Brock's claims about his 1/4 Dome appearance? He didn't know that the WWE invested time and money into getting him over? He didn't know that he was a "top-tier" wrestler? How many non top-tier wrestlers beat The Rock to win the World Title?

He said that he didn't know he only got his release to pursue a football career. Obviously, he doesn't read the internet, because that was the impression I got.

He also doesn't seem to get that he can't do MMA, which again, if he would have read the internet, he would have found that out.

But his New Japan crowd sitting payday really takes the cake. He claims that he was only there "as a spectator." He was also "without knowledge" that NJ is “involved in the development, production, and marketing of professional wrestling and/or sports-entertainment.” I guess the name New Japan PRO WRESTLING isn't much of a hint as to what they do. What exactly did you think they were involved with then Brock? Tea ceremony? The marquee says wrestling. IN ENGLISH! I suppose most spectators do get personally introduced to the crowd and make their own entrance into the arena, which of course makes a TV airing of a show that didn't have a live PPV, and was split into 2 taped TV episodes.

He said he didn't know that NJ was promoting that he would show up, although the pictures he, Sable and Inoki took together, as well as publicly announcing that Inoki was the reason he was there and invited Inoki to their wedding, suggest otherwise. Not to mention the mob of reporters that just happened to know when and where his plane was going to land.

All of his negotiations with New Japan were
"concerning the possibility of his working with the organization in some fashion, at some future time, if legally permitted to do so.” Uh-huh. Listening to Inoki, I got this impression: "Brock vs. Akebono! 5/14! Tokyo Dome! Signed, sealed and delivered! Tickets on sale now! Be there!"

If this is the best Brock can come up with, he needs better lawyers. Considering that this is going to be held in Connecticut, he should have just admitted that he did it, and sing a sad song of the big evil corporation trying to stop him from making enough money to eat. It would work especially well if he came in all non-muscular and pitiful looking. Maybe have one of his suits from his wrestling days look 5 or 6 sizes too big, to really nail home how this starving shell of his former self is just trying to get by, but the evil Vince McMahon wants him to starve to death by inventing more places Brock can't work after his release. Sounds better than, "I didn't know New Japan Pro Wrestling was a pro wrestling company."

Ah, Brock Lesnar, he never ceases to entertain me. I still think he's one of the most overrated guys around, what with his constant hurting of opponents and such. I love how people still insist he's a nice guy too. He really screwed up but he won't admit it. I can't wait to see him hurt someone or say the wrong thing in Japan so he'll get blacklisted there too. Maybe we'll see him in the audience as a "spectator" at an IWA Puerto Rico event someday

I gotta say, I love Brock. He's a hoss that can move fast, do high spots, go technical, or work strong. He's the total package. I'm interested to see where his career goes from here.

As for the whole "I didn't know thing"... well I never said he was the brightest guy. But whatever gets him in the ring again is fine with me.

Welcome to Old News, population - you.

I have nothing against Brock's work in the ring. Considering the short amount of time he was wrestling, he picked up an awful lot very very quickly. No matter how much natural talent you have though, if you don't love the business, there is a limit to how much success you can (and should) achieve.

Contrary to popular belief, having a college degree does not mean you are intelligent. Brock and the existence of liberals proves this to be true. If the guy had any common sense at all he would have walked out like Austin did and collected his downside until he was outright fired. That way he would have a 90 day no compete just like everybody else, and would be free to work TNA, NJ, get murdered in PRIDE or do whatever else he wants. Seriously, who does Brock think he's going to beat in PRIDE? Giant Silva probably. Nagata maybe. Kawada maybe. Goldberg for sure, if he ever decides to back up his big mouth. I'm running out of names here.

About 56,000,000 Americans voted for George W.Bush... I'm sure a few of them had degrees and masters. Just goes to show that all the education in the world doesn't help much if you don't have common sense.

Kind of like with Brock when he signed that no compete clause which is valid until 2008 I think it is.

I won't take anything away from the guy as far as build or ability goes but you've got to wonder what was going threw his head when he signed that contact?

The problem with Bush is that he's too moderate. What America needs is an Emperor with balls. Someone who wouldn't care about anything but getting the job done as quickly as possible. Someone who shares my vision for the rest of the world. Sadly, Toyotomi Hideyoshi wasn't running, otherwise I would have voted for him.

Brock's no compete runs all the way through the end of the 7 year extension he signed a few months before asking for his release, which puts it somewhere around June 2010, give or take a month. However, I can tell you exactly what he was thinking. He didn't want to put in 4 days/week anymore. It's no secret that pro wrestlers are the biggest baddest athletes on the planet. Because of this, it is reasonable to suspect that Brock has more athletic ability than at least 99% of the people currently playing in the NFL, especially since 5 minutes in the ring = a whole football game with no pads, no breaks between plays, no timeouts and no halftime. All of the sprints and other mundane tasks the Vikings had him do proved that to be could go athletically. He impressed the hell out of everybody. He wasn't worried about the no compete, because he just assumed that he would make the team. If it hadn't been so long since he played football, he would have been right. He just didn't have the football part down like the other guys in the NFL do. That's why they offered him a contract to go to NFL Europe and learn. Make no mistake about it, the Vikings want a Brock Lesnar that can play football. His jersey was the top selling jersey in the NFL from the time it came out until almost a month after he had been dropped. Even if he was only good enough to be third string, the Vikings want that merchandise money.

How did George Bush Get In this? LOL

Brock is just nuts, he just didn;t want to work for the WWE anymore and tried to get out of his contract, underhandedly. He should just go back swallow his pride and just work off the contract or, just wait untill 2010 and he will be in the ring with Hiroshi Nagao.

I love how WWE is trying to say Brock's negotiations have broken off. Legally, due to the lawsuit, WWE can't be reporting on contract negotiations they are having. I really hope people aren't buying into this. I say Brock shows up at SummerSlam.
