Kuniaki Kobayashi Cancer Questions

I heard that during the 1990s, Kuniaki Kobayashi had a battle with cancer. My questions are the following...

What type of cancer did he have?
When was he diagnosed?
When did his first surgery took place, since the second one occurred in 1999?

Though I get some mixed stories, I just confirmed he had three surgeries. Just not sure when they were.

The first one was for colorectal cancer in 1992.

He had another one for liver in 1999. Then, he retired in 2000.

He had one more sugery, but I'm not sure when. Some say it was around the same time as the first one (thus, the second one), but I also read the third one was after his retirement.
