Misawa what are you thinking letting Modest defend the title in a promotion with much worse wrestlers than yours. Bring back the title and put it around a Marufuji's waist.

Marafuji & KENTA have JR Tag gold now. Modest defending the belt in U.S. made sense for two reasons. A) It helps NOAH back up their "Global" claim and drive to be a promotion that truly is world-wide & B)helped them focus on the new JR Tag Belts on their last tour which they are trying to push hard. Also, Modest defended the belt against NOAH regular and accomplished wrestler Donovan Morgan, not some indy joke off the street. I would look for Sugiura to get pushed as next JR Champ ahead of fan favorites and new tag champs KENTA & Marafuji

That's true Global, I had forgot about Morgan being a regular for NOAH.

But his first defence was against Vito Thomaselli, who to my knowledge isn't a regular for NOAH.

Very true EH84. Vito "IS" just some indy joke off the street that I forgot actually received a title shot. That is sad. I would think this is only a political move for Misawa so that he strengthens the alliance with Morgan & Modest's promotion in the U.S. The timing was also very good as I mentioned before so that the full attention would be on the new JR Tag Titles while the U.S. guys are fighting over the JR Singles belt over in the states. KENTA, Kanemaru, Suguira & Hashi, Kikuchi, Marafuji and maybe even Suzuki would be a better JR Champ IMO but this gives the Title a different flavor and prestige having been defended in the U.S. I would imagine soon though that a native has it around their waist. Maybe a Kanemaru & Sugiura, Marafuji & KENTA, Modest & Morgan, Hashi & Suzuki feud over all the Junior belts that NOAH now has. And leave Vito out of it.

I agree. I'd like to see Modest defend it agianst some of the other Junior feds, like Liger and Kanemoto did with the NJPW Jr. Tag belts. Modest is very talent, what little I saw of him in WCW, NOAH has a diamond in the ruff with him.
