Great Voyage 2000: Kobayashi vs. Akiyama

What was this match rated by the usual wrestling smarks? I thought it was awesome and am wondering if this is what to expect if I continue getting NOAH tapes.

Also noted a post below about Tamon Hondas and how he's a top guy, and I'm amazed because he doesn't have the look, and he appears to be past his prime.

Since 2000-2001, whats happened to Marufuji and Ogawa? They really looked good on this tape also.

Hi there, welcome to the board!

First Off the Akiyama-Kobashi match was a good match. I'd give it 4/5. It missed the "Gigantic" feeling that huge Tokyo Dome matches have, like Misawa-Kawada or Motoh-Takada for instance...

Second, Honda is not worthy of a push. He's too old, and not that good... Lets say that having good buddies at the right place helps... (just like Misawa's rat boy Ogawa...) Honda is NOAH's version of Yasuda!

Ogawa is back in the junior league, where he belongs. If you missed it, Misawa actually put his little rat boy in front of everyone else by giving him the GHC Heavyweight title by defeating Akiyama!!! He lost it to Takayama (who lost it to Misawa who gave it to Kobashi).

Marafuji had injury problems and is just getting back in shape...
