I am asking this question because I got into a big discussion with a few puro fans who told me that Misawawas very anti-gaijin and at one point refused to speak to or work with anyone who was not Japanese.
Is this true?
My friends also explained to me that it was pressure from Kobashi and Taue that made him change his policies regarding non-Japanese.

If he were really racist he wouldn't have had Big Van Vader & 2 Cold Scorpio become the first GHC tag team champs, nor he would have allied himself with Modest, Morgan, or their promotion, or even allowed Juventud Guerrera in...
My friends also explained to me that it was pressure from Kobashi and Taue that made him change his policies regarding non-Japanese.
What is the real story???
My best guess is that he was tired of Hansen and Williams, who though old, were kept on the high level by Mrs. Baba - another reason to split with her. A change of opposition is good, though, don't you think?
Or maybe he was tired of kicking the crud out of them
In all honesty, I have heard rumours of Misawa being anti-gaijin also. They stemmed from not talking to any of the Zen Nihon gaijin workers backstage to the breaking of Vader's arm. My guess is that it's Puroresu scepticists who just want a quick fifteen minutes of fame to look good and report on "breaking" stories, no matter who's reputation it may damage.
Who knows though? I maybe wrong. Only one man truly knows his intentions: And that's Mitsuharu himself.
If Misawa is Racist towards American wrestlers, it would be a shame. However, since he has American stars in his roster, it couldn't hurt to have a gaijin win a title to make things interesting.
