Kobashi's next Title Defense vs. a Jr.?

GHC Heavyweight Title Champ Kenta Kobashi stated today at Joe Higuchi’s 50th Anniversary of being in wrestling party that he is leaning towards defending his title next against a Jr. Heavyweight and mentioned Yoshinobu Kanemaru/KENTA/Naomichi Marufuji/Takashi Sugiura as the leading candidates.

No, no, Those are the last people Kobashi should defend the title against...Feed somebody to him, but not a junior...
I have lot all my respect for my namesake...there I would like to be known as WilliamsFan from now on...I feel disgraced with the name of Edge on me...

Has Kobashi lost what precious little mind he has left?

Well I wouldn't mind if Kobashi defended against a junior who could hold his own against him...

The only candidates I'd consider for this are:

    1) Liger (greatest Junior ever)
    2) Kanemoto (Can hold his own against anyone)
    3) Marafuji (Best in NOAH)
    4) Kanemaru (only cause he's GHC champ)

I think it would be agreat change of pacefor Kobashi to face a jr. As much as I like some of the ones listed, they would have a hard time due to the fact they are mostly strikers and power moves. Kobashi is too big and powerful. I think you would need to go with the best assest of the juniors, speed. Few could match the speed of YOSSINO. I'm sure a few hits would take him out but the problem would be landing them.

^^^ CIMA could do alot better vs. Kobashi than YOSSINO. YOSSINO sucks and he would have no kind of offense vs. Kobashi, so Kobashi would just murder YOSSINO.

I could see CIMA doing good...but wouldn't Milano do pretty good as well.

As much as I'd love to see it happen, Liger would be squashed if he were to face Kobashi...but I can always dream.

That would be such a huge honor, the first to have held both the GHC Heavy and Jr. Heavy titles!

Milano's offensive couldn't do much to Kobashi, since he's just mainly Sub. Moves... It still would be rather intresting and good, but I still pick CIMA better.

If you had to put one Junior in there, why not Katsushi Takemura? He is a brawler like Kobashi, except Kobashi is a brawler with finesse. I'd like to see this.

I was the first to admit that YOSSINO wouldn't last long but my point I was trying to get across (and I do apologize for not being clearer) is that the jr. who would give Kobashi the best match up would have to be one that doesn't use the striking and power moves that work against fellow jrs. For them to apply the same technique against someone who can take more punishment and deliver more on a larger scale is insane. Speed and high flying would be best chance, not a large one. YOSSINO is super fast, CIMA I think as earlier mentioned could pull off the speed, what other jrs excell at speed as a weapon and defense? i'm sure there are plenty. Hayabusa did hold his own against the larger opponets.

Could this be ogawa??? Plus anyone notice the odd resemblance he and misawa has?? Sure would explain a lot. Brother misawa booking his lesser brother for the ghc heavyweight title. Oh well, i know that this guy wouldnt work but i have to vote for my boy sugiara. Sugiara isnt really a junior anyway and only misses 20 pounds and an inch as to be the same size as kobashi. Could help push sugiara as a heavyweight.

Actually CIMA could give a good fight to Kobashi aswell as Marufuji. Have CIMA or Marufuji attack Kobashi's knees for awhile and just basically have both men going after Kobashi's knees for their almost entire offense. Then Kobashi recovers and kills them. Also KENTA could give a good fight and KENTA can take a good amount of punishment, KENTA proved all that when he faced Takayama, that Takayama almost killed him.
