Deep heart massage... why?
I've been following puroresu for a few years, but this was a new one for me.
In a 2000 Noah match up (I want to say it was the first show, maybe)
Akiyama/Kobashi tagged against Taue/Misawa.
During the match, Akiyama got Misawa in his choke hold submission. After a minute or two, the ref calls for the bell and rolls Misawa over. He gets a real concerned look on his face and motions for some paramedics to enter the ring who then give Misawa freaking CPR!
After a moment, Misawa opens his eyes, sits up, and the match continues.
My question is... what the hell? Is this a common thing to do in Puroresu? I mean, sure it sells the submission hold pretty well, but it's kind of tacky.
Anyone else see that?

Ya I saw that, and I thought it was pretty fake.
IMO the match should have ended right there...

It was a decent match, I thought, it just could've done without that.
As if Misawa needed any more self buildup.
