2002/04/14 Differ Ariake - Kohdoh Fuyuki Retirement Memorial Card
Mitsuharu Misawa shows his support for a longtime friend Kohdoh Fuyuki. NOAH will have Fuyuki's retirement memorial card on 2002/04/14 at Differ Ariake. Fuyuki will team with Misawa and Yoshinari Ogawa to face Akira Taue, Masao Inoue, and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi. On next day, Nippon TV will air a commercial-free special program.
Fuyuki had his debut match in May, 1980 from the old IWE promotion. However, IWE folded in the following year, and its rookies Fuyuki and Apollo Sugawara joined All Japan, whose rookies then included Shiro Koshinaka, Misawa, Tarzan Goto, and Toshiaki Kawada.
Also, New Japan president Tatsumi Fujinami announced that New Japan was willing to offer its wrestlers for WEW's opening card on 2002/05/05 at Kawasaki Stadium which will be promoted by Fuyuki.
As I understood it, both were supposed to be feuding with a union under the FMW banner somewhere down the line. I could be wrong on that though, not sure where I heard it from.
Fuyuki was a wrestler who made things interesting in FMW. I have a few matches with this wrestler, the two matches that I'll remember are the 15,000 volt cage match against Masato Tanaka and the match at the 12/23/00 NOAH PPV with Kuroda in which they regained the WEW Tag belts. Fuyuki is cool in my book.
