Zero-One Tapes

Highspots.com have removed ALL their ZERO-ONE Tapes from sale, along with all ALL-JAPAN Tapes between the second WRESTLE-1 and their last PPV...anyone know why ???

I do know that they didnt list the hustle 2 ppv because according to the webmaster 'the footage is owned by PRIDE'. I don't know but its possible that they plan on distributing them in the states? FMW tried that a couple years back and with the 'american friendly' hustle concept they could very well try to do that. I obtained a copy of hustle 2 and I have to say the curtain jerker was worth the price alone. That was an incredible match. I don't speak japanese but its pretty easy to follow the 'angles' they present via backstage footage (definetly wwe style writing and booking). I'm trying to figure out if the leader of the heel faction MONSTER is really M.Bison from Street Fighter 2 or if it is maybe his long lost brother though LOL.

I emailed Highspots and asked what happened. They responded by saying that Zero-One had sued 39 different websites for selling their tapes without proper licencing. They negotiated a deal and are now a licenced Zero-One dealer, and have listed a few of the tapes again.

That doesnt surprise me. Zero One has a decent chance of appealing to an alternitive audience in the U.S. in a video and dvd market. I can see why they would be protective of it. I wouldnt be surprised to see them do a U.S. ppv at some point although they certainly are not at that point yet. Getting a good highlight reel style commericial in front of a mainstream 'monday night football crowd' could spark alot of interest real quick. I wouldnt be surprised if the NFL would practiacally give away commercial time to them considering their well known heat with their ratings drop due to RAW. Sure it probably won't go down like that if ever but think of the possibilities if someone with a little money stood behind them and built them a cult following via a marketing machine based on that same nfl fan demographic. That may be the only way Vince will be forced into 'Round 2'.
