Razor Ramon to Debut For HUSTLE

No, not Last Call Hall. We're talking about someone far more hardcore than that. It's not the Fake Razor Ramon either. Recently debuted is HUSTLE's newest creation - Razor Ramon HG! I know what you're thinking, and yes, the HG stands for Hard Gay. At least, it's supposed to. I suppose it could become HUSTLE Gay as soon as someone in the PR department screws up. This is the same company that renamed New Jersey Powerful Warrior Nagoya Joe Powerful Warrior for no reason. It's been a long time since HUSTLE did something that surprised me.

    Pictures a plenty coming up.

I know it's for cheap heat and all, but I have to feel sorry for poor Ishikari. Getting Giant Silva for a birthday present, in his hometown, with his family sitting in the front row, was bad enough. He's earned the right to be the first HUSTLE World Champion after this. How many dues can the poor guy pay?

Razor isn't a wrestler, but a comedy guy from something called Yoshimoto. Hopefully, this means he won't be winning, renaming and doing crude things with the HHH Title Bat.

Being from show biz, he knows how to get noticed. I would assume this is all of the promotional work he has done thus far.

Call me crazy, but wouldn't it have been easier to just book Danshoku Dino? He already has the gimmick, and he was HUSTLE before HUSTLE was cool. Not to mention little things like him being a good worker and having comedy skills other than HG. If the point is to leech some WWE trademarks because Vince would never win a lawsuit against DSE in Japan, they should have booked Dustin Rhodes and told him to do the Goldust gimmick. The American trash would go wild.

You know somewhere out there The Borrowing Money King, Hollywood Yasuda himself is betting on how long this gimmick is going to last. Somehow, Ogawa will make money from those bets, and The Tax Paying King will pay even more taxes next year.

In my opinion it's sad to see a serious wrestler like Kawada participating in this... This is just my personal opinion, I just don't dig at all that soap opera stuff.
Why is he involved in this? Money I guess..

It's no secret that DSE pays well, and that was probably why Kawada started working for them. However, he understands the concept of what HUSTLE does, and ihe works there now because it is fun, not for the money. If he was only interested in money he would have signed with New Japan a long time ago, as legally nothing was keeping in All Japan for some time and I have it on good authority that lots of years lots of zeros type of offers were there. He likes doing promos and vignettes, and he's surprisingly good at them. He is treated with the respect he's earned by the office, and gets to assert his superiority over Ishikari JBL style. He's also the most over babyface in HUSTLE. But the bottom line is performing in HUSTLE is fun, and there's nothing better than getting a big payday to do something you would do for free. That's why it's his top priority, and AJ doesn't run head to head with HUSTLE anymore.

It's a good way to stay in the limelight too. The press likes two things - MMA and HUSTLE. Working for HUSTLE, especially on top, gets you a lot of press. This will make you look like a bigger star than you are. Since he is all over the press, it probably lets him charge more for doing spots, since Kawada Toshiaki puts butts in seats.

HUSTLE isn't for everyone. Nor is it a soap opera. But it isn't wrestling, and it doesn't pretend to be. To quote XPW - this ain't your daddy's rasslin. It is a lot more Japanese than most people think, but it isn't Japanese wrestling. You know the old expression 'the marquee says wrestling?' In HUSTLE, the marquee says Fighting Oh-PEAR-uh for a reason.

*IS stifiling laughter as he types this*

Thank goodness it wasn't Scott Hall, but for a moment there I thought it was Danshoku Dino.

Yeah Scott Hall can't even walk to the ring without getting tired and breathing hard.

Looks to me like HUSTLE's got the same writing staff as WWE.

What? You mean like they're over-paid failed writers who's ideas seem like they've spent the last few days stoned?

    Don't insult stoners, Toan.

I, for one, like HUSTLE for what it is... very sophisticated sleaze. I mean, monsters? Costumes? Melodramatic plots? Imagine HUSTLE without the budget and you get a lot of the puroresu independents. Unfortunately, the indies can't do anything as cool as Onigumo's webbing, and plus HUSTLE has the big name talent.

And yeah, they should have just picked up Danshoku Dino, but I read somewhere about an upcoming angle between Dino and Ramon, with Dino claiming Ramon is a "fake gay." I suppose it's a pretty fresh gimmick for Japan, so I say run with it until it loses steam (which should be in 15 minutes).

I'm looking forward to a fruity Hustlemania.

I think that about somes it up, Pigman. But, it's not your daddy's odd. If they could only get Dino and Razor Ramon to have a three way... match with Gackt.

When you say 3 way you do mean a wrestling match right.

Sure. But since Gackt's an immortal vampire lord, i'm pretty sure he'll have something written in his contract about the aftermatch. Then, it's no-holds barred. Not that I like that stuff or anything.
