UFC 40:Vendetta is coming up on the 22 topped off by a barnburner of a battle between Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz and the World's Most Dangerous Man Ken Shamrock. Im sure most of you know the history between Shamrock and Oritz. Does anyone have any insight or predictions??

Prediction- Tito wins
Shamrock gets off to a fast start with a stand-up punching attack and takes an early lead. Toward the middle of the fight Tito takes control and a tiring Shamrock switches to attacking Tito's hurt knee. At the end Tito takes him down and starts pounding on him for the decision. I hope Shamrock can pull this one out though. He signed a three fight deal and a loss really doesn't matter as long as he has a good fight. We can look foward to a rematch or may'be Ken Shamrock vs Chuck Liddell but if he has a bad match who knows. I think a Shamrock win could be big boost for UFC and Tito can handle a loss O.K. he has his fans and they will want to see him no matter what but this isn't wrestling. Tito is a great young fighter and Shamrock will have a tough time defeating him.
I agree I have gotta put the money, the house, the cat, the dog, the barn, the kids all on Tito. The Hunnington Beach Bad Boy isnt gonna let himself lose. After all the work he's put into rehabilitating this Torn ACL(I know its tough work Ive done it twice in 2 years) he will be ready to go and ready to win

I wonder whether we'll see a boring conservative match by Tito, like the one he waged against Matyushenko, or an open versatile war like his match with Frank.
I hope Ken's in a good enough physical shape to last the whole match and that Tito won't sit back waiting to eke a JD from the last round. If Ken's strong enough to take Tito down and make him work on his back, anything could happen... even an ankle lock
Missed the broadcast but just watched the tape. Went about like I expected it to. Kenny's a shot fighter. Biggest surprise was how easily Tito dominated him at Muay Thai. Ortiz-Liddell will be a way better fight, but looks like PRIDE will get it from what Ortiz said in the postfight.
Well I saw the fight and it was pretty bad... Early, they exchanged punches. Both of them were rather cautious (with reason!) Tito was on top but Shammy caught Tito with a really good left. However, he didn't act on it and that was the only time he could've done so. Tito threw Shammy down a couple of times, not really doing anything, but still hitting Kenny. Gotta give it to Shamrock though, as he escaped every single time. He didn't have the stamina though, and it was clear from the start...
Shammy at 30 would have given a better performance. Show stopped after 3rd round I think, and it was not a good match.
Disagree, didn't see Ortiz being 'cautious', saw him taking the fight to Shamrock even standing. Kenny did buckle him with that left hook, but Tito had buckled Kenny already. Shamrock had no defense against Tito taking him down and no offense or even aggressive defense from the guard. He did pull off two nice escapes, one in the 2nd and one in the 3rd, but those and the one good left hook were the sum total of his accomplishments in the fight. Like I said the surprises were Tito's dominance in striking, and also in strength. Kenny would have done better physically when he was younger, sure... but his knowledge back when he was 30 would not have been competitive with what the guys know today.
Oh, yeah, whoopee. Looked like he was having trouble just walking down the ramp. F-friggin' clown. He wasn't even in good enough shape back in the early days. Can't wait to see him get his phoney *** handed to him now. Maybe they can get the footage of him dancing like a fairy with Three Count.
Tank Abbott should be given 1 match. Face Ricco, have his bloated butt handed to him, pop the tremendous oversized head (ego) and laid to rest with UFC 'legends' like koji kitao...
I believe that's what they hired him to do take a beating. I say good for him he might need some beer money and it can't hurt UFC because when they start to get ahead something happens to knock them back down.
Just saw the match last night. Tito was in great shape, wasn't that impressed with his finishing power either standing or with GnP though. He did most of the damage by dominating position and slowly but surely working Shamrock down on the ground.
His muay thai skills are nowhere near Vanderlei's or Liddell's though, but that's just Tito's style: a smart, powerful and well-rounded wrestler. I agree that Liddell will provide a much tougher
test.
Tank Abbott's return was a joke, though he looks in better shape than anytime I can remember seeing him. Looks like he wants to fight Tito, seeing how he trash talked him, which would be another big vendetta-style payday for UFC down the road. In the HW division, Tank vs Ricco would really suck IMO, I'd rather see Tank vs Rizzo 2 or Tank getting his *** handed to him by lighter guys.
Also, the pre-fight bad blood was pretty much a fix IMO to create heat (like Frye/Shamrock at PRIDE 19): worked well though, as it got the crowd excited and the underground talking. Good to see Ken and Tito showed one another real respect, as they should. To sell it, UFC will probably try to build up Liddell/Ortiz in the same way along a "good friends, better enemies" style spin.
The talk of Liddell/Ortiz in Japan is probably just designed to up the ante and get UFC to shore out more cash for it.
Oh, yeah! And that fake-tough moron Bradshaw was seated in the first row. His Brawl 4 All performance against Mark Canterbury was the most pathetic display I've ever seen: he couldn't even throw a decent punch. Maybe UFC should get him to fight Tank...
