Talking Beware world! Here comes Gilles Arsene!

Here's a translation of an excerpt of an interview given by da man himself in a french magazine:
"...I held 17 minutes. For a PRIDE debut, I think that's not bad. For reference, Quinton Jackson lost in 5 mn and 41 sec; Renzo Gracie lost in 19 mn and 48 sec; Shannon Ritch lost in the first round; Ryan Gracie gave up at the beginning of the second round; Carlos Newton lost in the second round.
Now I've decided to take on Yoshida in a coming PRIDE!"

Nice one, man... but I don't think PRIDE will be inviting you back!

You couldn't possibly be serious. He said that? Like for real? Like Gilles Arsene the world's most shameless man?

    Hey:

Yeah Gilles, you lasted. The difference between you and Sak's other opponents is that THEY FOUGHT BACK and TRIED HARD. You laid there on the mat, covering your head and doing NOTHING. Shame on you, and shame on Sakuraba for not putting you out of our misery in three minutes.

That fight with Yoshida might happen, given the fact that Arsene will never be taken seriously and will never be offered decent money for a genuine fight; he's got "worker" written all over him. I can't believe this guy trains with Jerome Le Banner--you'd think he would have inherited some of Le Banner's skill and more importantly, class.

Shame on Sak...? Man he was just trying to show us exactly how sad that guy was...Sakuraba= too cool...he was just entertaining the fans...I figure a quick and stealthy death for this guy would have been a waist of my money.

The crowd was booing continually throughout the fight. They were by no means being entertained.

When I pay to see Sakuraba in action, I'm paying to see his phenomenal submission technique and cagey striking ability, neither of which were at all present in the Arsene bout. If you enjoyed it, fine, but this was the worst match of Sakuraba's career.

"That poor guy is doomed to be nothing more than a punchline amongst MMA fans..." Technosphile on Arsene in casual converstaion at Gametown arcade

Apparently he's learning how to talk to the press from LeBanner and learning his punches and kicks from a quadruple amputee deep in the heart of Luxembourg.

I also was a bit dissapointed by Sakuraba. Why must he throw those girly punches? He's my favorite fighter still but that completely ineffective stuff doesn't make him seem ready for any of the big guns. And we all know that he, Pride and the fans need Kazushi Sakuraba to be a bigtime "somebody" in fighting.

I just think that even though the match was the worst of Saks career...its hard to blame Sak for such a display..blame the people who booked this piece of crap...it was like Mike Tyson vs. 5 year old school girl...they new what was going to happen...and to be realistic...I must admit tecno...I was not really entertained by this match...in fact...I would rather watch grass grow in slow motion...whoever booked this match should go to sleep on train tracks.
