ZACH reported a rather interesting conspiracy theory floating around Japan that Barnett agreed to the job to Cro Cop, citing the way he lost and how Cro Cop's agent introduced a bunch of money marks to Barnett after the fight. Anyone have more info and/or opinions on the possibility of it being a work?
But before anyone goes out there and talk about theories on how Barnett jobbed that... maybe they should read about what Barnett had to say about the incident.
It's no secret that Josh is all about the Benjamins. The guy won't put down the ham sammich for less than $200,000. Not that I blame him, since he can get it he shouldn't take less. That opens up a whole new can of worms with New Japan allegedly taking half of his booking fee, which Josh would NEVER go for (he'll tell you he'd rather just eat ham sammiches all day than take less for a fight), but that's a whole different conspiracy theory.
In his commentary he doesn't exactly go into detail as to why he let Mirko's agent take him around to a bunch of money marks right after the fight when he clearly needed more medical attention, but he's going to be laying down his side of that on the PPH Monday. I highly doubt that he's going to say that he took money to do the job, not that there would be anything wrong with that if the payday was good. Especially considering that losing to Cro Cop won't exactly kill your drawing power.
And Niniendo, people were saying it was a work as soon as it happened, way before Josh even thought about doing a commentary, so there.
