yeah it was a good fight, it's what you would expect from these two great fighters, it literally could of gone either way but Igor got a yellow card so that was a factor, even though Heath got a 3-0 judges decision and Heath did a contraversial although accidental headbutt to Igor during the early rounds that was called over really good fight.
I read the winner of the Fyre/Shamrock fight, which was Don Fyre, might end up fighting "Iron" Mike Tyson under PRIDE rules if Tyson accepts the challenge and close to the biggest purse ever offered after he fights Lewis for the Boxing Title... does this have any truth behind it or is it all fiction? Fill me in if you will.
Don Frye vs Ken Shamrock started out slow, in the first round they mainly clinched each other a lot and threw rabbit punches at each other, it picked up in the later rounds as Shamrock attempted leglocks but Frye hung in there and got the best of Shamrock later with flurries of punchs rocking Shamrock onto the mat and so on. It was a good fight in my opinion and was what it was hyped up to be.
and yes PRIDE has offered Mike Tyson to fight in PRIDE, it's more or less a publicity stunt if you ask me and I don't see Tyson taking them up on the offer unless Tyson's desperate for money.
Well, the last time that I saw an MMA fight with a boxer being in there was Stephane Ouellet against Pain Peters in UCC. Ouellet was a gis star in Quebec, but was only in his second MMA fight. He didn't know what to do, and kept trying to headbut and bite his opponant...
Hope that if Tyson ever came to fight, he wouldn't do anything dirty... Yet again, if he goes against Don Frye, he probably wouldn't last 30 seconds!
As much as I love MMA and there fighters, I wouldn't count Tyson out so very easily after all Tyson is one tough guy and we know what his punchs can do, with a little training on sprawl techniques and takedown defenses he can very well be more lethal then he already is. If he learned how to sprawl Frye would have a difficult time trying to take him down as sprawling to defend a takedown leaves openings for the offensive side. IF this fight were to ever take place it could go either way IMO remember and keep in mind Tyson is a brawler, not just a boxer.
I think that you're right, lCS 39, that Tyson could be a major player if he trained hard... But probably not in his first match against a guy like Frye... Maybe if he becomes dedicated to learn some techniques he could become a tough guy to face...
