Well, this is coverage of the replay show being that I was gone for the live event. Hey, at this point, what's another night with no sleep?
Jeremy Horn vs. Trevor Prangley is up first. First round was mostly on the ground. Each man rocked the other once standing. Horn went for two armbars and a guillotine from the bottom. I'd give the round to Horn.
Horn was doing a little better standing. Prangley took him down and had top position. Prangley did some ground and pound. Horn has a cut under the right eye. I'd give the round to Prangley so the third round will decide it.
Dull third round. Prangley had some takedowns and that was about all there was. I've got Prangley 29-28. Horn is the bigger star, however. Well, they gave it to Horn. Prangley felt like he was shot. Crowd booed this one heavily. Horn even thought Prangley won but he felt he was working harder from the bottom.
Dana White came out for announcements. He announced Chuck Liddell vs. Randy Couture for 2/4, announced Frank Mir would be facing Andrei Arlovsky some time next year, then announced Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz as season three coaches for Ultimate Fighter. They did some pro wrestling being held back. And then he announced B.J. Penn was signed. I guess we get Penn vs. Matt Hughes next year. I think we're a little late for Ortiz vs. Shamrock, but it's happening. Well, give Dana White credit. I guess he saw that they simply need more talent. They've at least given themselves several marquee fights because Ortiz over Shamrock leads to Ortiz-Liddell, which would be a record gate.
George St. Pierre vs. Sean Sherk is up next.
Both stopped the others' takedown early. St. Pierre's reach gives him an advantage standing. St. Pierre got a takedown late and threw some hard elbows and clearly won the round.
Second round saw St. Pierre again use his reach, then get a takedown. He did a number on Sherk with punches and elbows, busting his nose and Sherk was badly cut when the match was stopped. St. Pierre said he wanted a title match. St. Pierre vs. Hughes is going to be a real major fight. St. Pierre went on his knees and asked for a world title shot. Quite the promo. Dana was all smiles after seeing that one.
Matt Hughes vs. Joe Riggs is the next match. Hughes scored a quick takedown and caught Riggs in a Kimura for the submission.
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Kevin Jordan as heavyweights are up next.
Gonzaga dominated the round on the ground.
Second round was horrible. Both guys were gassed but just didn't do anything. Maybe Jordan gets the round becuase he threw some punches, but Gonzaga took him down. Really, both guys lost this round.
Third round was so bad people were chanting "Go Home" at both of them. Gonzaga ran in out of nowhere with a punch to the jaw that knocked out Jordan. Well, not much thought as to worst match of the night. They were only 20 seconds from going to the cards. I have no clue why I'm still awake.
Rich Franklin knocked out Nate Quarry with a left to the jaw. Quarry was out cold. Franklin said he'd fight next whomever they asked him to fight. Quarry said that at least when he gets old, he can say he fought for the middleweight title.
FAITH in HIM is the refusal to panic.
GOT JESUS?
