i am a big Stan Hansen mark and wanted to know which matchs in
both his NJ/AJ career were his best?
Also I have heard that his
"Western Lariat" was a really stiff move, which is why he cracked Bruno's neck with it. and why did he use it left armed instead of right? most wrestlers use a right handed clothline.
From what I heard, when Stan Hansen wrestled Bruno Sammartino; Hansen was very green and inexperienced and broke Bruno's neck with a piledriver. Soon after Hansen pinned Sammartino after a lariat, the WWWF announced that the lariat broke his neck, which is why the manuever is so famous.
But, that's just what I heard...I could be wrong.
"Impossible is a word in the dictionary of fools."- Napolean Bonaparte
"You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind."
I remember All Japan TV announcer was sayig that Hansen was actually a right-handed even though he does lariart with the left arm.
He didn't break Sammartino's neck with a lariat. It was a screwed bodyslam. Hansen just dropped Bruno badly. In case you are wondering, Bruno doesn't hold a grudge against Hansen today.

I'm just wondering, did Hansen really wrote the book in Japanese himself? Or did he write it in English and got it translated to Japanese?
If so, then why can't they just publish the original English one in North America? Quick and easy.
His matches against Vader are good too... 2 titans clash...
Those were stiff matches, they traded heavy blows and some unexpected blows (Vader dropkicks Hansen...)
Also I like his match with Andre in 1981. Hansen bodyslams Andre and then armdrags him, and eventually knocks him outside the ring with a lariat.
I have lot all my respect for my namesake...there I would like to be known as WilliamsFan from now on...I feel disgraced with the name of Edge on me...
A few years ago I heard an interview with Vader, talking about how hard Hansen would hit you and expect you to hit back as hard. His first real matches were with Hansen, who also was one of his main instructors. After he was done with his intial feud with Hanson he wrestled a few other guys and apparently stiffed them pretty good. Eventually a promoter asked him what his problem was, why was he beating up his workers. Vader was confused becuase, up until that point, he thought everybody hit each other as hard a Stan hit him.
Not really doing the story justice, but you get the idea....
