Hayabusa (Eiji Ezaki) will start a new promotion called "Wrestling Marvelous of the Future" (W.M.F.). If things go fine, the opening card will be held on August 28th. The top wrestler will be Mr. Gannosuke, who is Hayabusa's former classmate from college, and Hayabusa's role will be the commissioner.

Hey that's pretty big news. I was always thinking Hayabusa would have just stayed as a wrestler. I guess he'll be walking by August then. Last I heard he was rehabbing. Did anyone know if Liger and Hayabusa reconciled when "The bird that never dies" got injured?

I think this would be a good time to make predictions on who you think would join WMF.

Since he was in the ring when Hayabusa was injured, Mammoth Sasaki will join his new promotion.

I missed Hayabusa so much, and I actually cried the first time I saw his accident.

It can only be a good thing for there to be more Feds out there. I only wish that we had some more new feds out there in the states.

I think that Kanemura will definitely be there, and maybe Tanaka, if only for one night...

His in-ring injury was pretty gross, I wish him all the luck in his new fed and I hope he gets to walk well again and even wrestle! Hey miracles happen :D

i'm just glad to hear Hayabusa is still part of wrestling although it may not be physical, it's still great.

on a side note, how do you think the DYNAMITE! event (PRIDE vs K-1) would effect this show since it's being ran on August 28th also?

Does anyone know if Hayabusa's new fed has a website yet?

If so, could ya let me know. thx!

Does Hayabusa plan to wrestle let alone walk ever again?

Dante_Inferno
2002-07-28, 03:49 AM
I don't know. It would take a lot of confidence and bravery for him to get back in that ring and start wrestling like he always did.
He might not even be able to walk properly. Only time will tell if poor Eiji will rise the Pheonix again. His name does mean the bird that never dies and sure isnt dying anytime soon.

ok you Ive gone over this before a Phoenix is not Immortal. The Legend of the Phoenix states that one Phoenix will live on earth until it feels it cant live properly anymore, then the Phoenix sets itself on fire to kill itself. Then out of the ashes a new Phoenix would be born. He lives until he cant live comfortably and sets itself on fire and it just keeps going like that. And there always was just 1 alive at a time
So by no means is a phoenix immortal

Does that mean Hayabusa is gonna set himself on fire and hope a new one will come along?

I thought Haybusa translated to Pergeine Flacon and not phoenix. Look, I hope the man does walk again and hope he never wrestles again. Even if he can somehow wrestle again, he will never be the same in the ring and most fans would resent him for that. I too hope the man has reconciled with Lyger and want everyone to think of him and realize he has bigger issues tha wrestling again.

Has there been any further news on WMF? Any other wrestlers announced as having signed on?

Heya,
I must say, I cannot wait for the first WMF event on aug 28, there are gonna many great competitors there, including sasuke, tiger mask 4, gannosuke, ricky fuji, shinzaki, dragon kid. it looks great and i think the fed will do great. i just want to say to yajuta that i hate your attitude. Hayabusa has said that he plans on returning to the ring and if you're a fan of his you should beleive him. he is puting his heart and soul into this one goal, because wrestling is his life and im sure he misses it more than any of us miss him. you should hope to see him wrestle again because he needs out support to do so. oh, im kinda behind when it comes to *** wrestling, just been getting into it more lately, what happened between hayabusa and lyger?

RoadWarrior Yajuta
2002-08-07, 01:53 AM
I care that you hate my attitude. The man is paralyzed and all you can do is crucify me for beong concerned about his well being? Bret Hart was a good wrestler that had a stroke recently, I would love to see him wrestle again, but wouldn't want him to. Would it be worth seeing Busa in the ring one more time, if he got hurt again? A spinal injury the dergee of which he suffered is a dangerous thing. If he were to take a bump wrong he could die. Is it so wrong of me to want the guy to live a long life? I am more worried about Ezaki than Haybusa at this point. I support him fully in his endeavor to walk again and lead as normal a life as he can, to me that is far more important than him wrestling again, so ask yourself who has the askewed attitude?

If you are still reading this the heat between Lyger and Hayabusa is this. They were good frineds, Lyger helped him with his gimmick and getting to Mexico. Essentially Hayabusa chose FMW over New Japan and Lyger felt betrayed.

ur not really getting what i am saying. if hayabusa, eiji ezaki had never mentioned wrestling, had never talked about a return, i wouldnt bring it up. it was the same with shawn michaels, i never would have told him to get into the ring. yet ezaki has founded a new wrestling fed and has said that he plans on returning and i think that it is not our duty to judge that decision, so, at this point, when we do not know the long term effects of his injury, i feel anyone who considers themself a fan of hayabusa, h, or eiji ezaki should support him in his plans, because he is a 33 year old who lives and breathes wrestling and im sure the idea of wrestling again is one of the greatest motivating factors for him to recover.

have lyger and hayabusa ever reconciled?

Rex Idol

I have to agree with Yajuta on this. Often an athlete is the last person in the world to judge what's best for themselves, physically speaking. His desire to return can outweigh his sense of reality. How many times do we see boxers try to come back when they shouldn't? Anybody remember Suger Ray Leonard's last fight? Or Muhammed Ali's? If Ali wanted to get back in the ring would you want to see that?

Bret Hart had to retire because of the potential for permanent brain damage, yet how many dumb fans talked about him coming back for the WCW Invasion, or for Wrestlemania? Permanent brain damage. But who cares, we get entertained, right? Permanent paralysis. But, hey, we get to see the firebird splash, that's what really matters.

I'm not going to say Hayabusa shouldn't be allowed to return to the ring, but I do think it would be a mistake. The best case scenario has him returning triumphantly, better than ever, and riding off into the sunset. That would be great. But the worst case scenario has him dead from a small error in timing. Ultimately it's his call, it's his life afterall, I'm just saying that I don't think it's a risk worth taking.

vega2
2002-08-07, 03:02 PM
i agree with you 100%, he could return better than ever or he could destroy himself, only time will tell. if in, lets say, a year, he has healed as much as he can and it would be a risk for him to return, id say, hell no, im not out for him to get hurt. all im saying, is that a this point in time we do not know the long term extent of his injury, and, right now, he hopes to return. if we give up on him, his battle to be at 100% will be horrible, that is why we must stand by him. once again, i have no interest in hayabusa becoming a full cripple or even dying, i am just saying, that if we dont know all the facts, we should take a positive view for now and time will tell whether he will wrestle again.

You all make very good points. But Hayabusa needs some more recovery time. Unlike most people, I do care about a wrestler's well being. They are human, just like us. But a full recovery for H would be wonderful. We should believe in him. If we don't. and have defeatist attitudes, then his iner soul will be destroyed. You catch my drift??

P.S. I wonder what style of wrestling this new fed will be. Will it be lucha libre, hardcore, or probably both.

I adore Hayabusa so much myself, and would rather see him adopt a role similar to Ultimo Dragon than see him rush through his healing time, step in the ring and cause himself more damage. As long as we still see Ezaki on our screens in one role or another, I think we should all be happy

No idea what the style of WMF is going to be, but I'm excited about it. I get the feeling this company could be Toryumon Mk. 2..... in the aspects that a former wrestler is booking it and will become one hell of a cult (almost) indy fed with a very lively feel

lol. "extreme handshake!!" i like the whole honor code they have, but the fans are gonna want blood sooner or later. probably sooner if they keep having the same badly overheated arena.

I like the idea of Ring of Honour. I think you could get a really good heel in the company just by abusing those very rules and codes of conduct ROH stands by.

I think ROH fan would rather have the fast paced technical wrestling over the punch-punch-table bump WWE product anyday... at least I hope!

at the site http://www.puroresufan.com/rosters/wmfroster.php there is a roster of the wrestlers for WMF. Mr. Gannosuke and Hayabusa are listed on the roster. How can that be? Has Hayabusa's condition improved that much?

Haybusa's new promotion....

could this be shades of FMW?

if you all think about it,

W.M.F is FMW Backwards,

could this be a great reincarnation of our beloved F.M.W!!

FMW will always live on forever

btw, im new on this and stuff,
i love my FMW Stuff, but i only have like 6 FMW tokyo pop vids :/ and i so want more fmw stuff, id like ot know where alot of the wrestlers have gone and what not,
what promotions and stuff their in...

Well if it'll help the state of Puroresu im all for it, FMW or no FMW. I also have to say it's quite ironic how he got injured considering some of the crazy things no talent "wrestlers" do.

I wish WMF and Hayabusa all the luck in the world. Eiji has got to be one of the most talented workers to ever step inside the squared circle and he put it on the line night in and night out for his promotion and the fans of FMW. No one single person has been so identifiable with one promotion and encompassed its style and theme as Hayabusa has with FMW. He simply carried that franchise that wasn't deep with talent and was able to carry the promotion with his versatility, being able to put on good matches with lesser talent in many styles including mat-based grappling and exploding death matches. He laid it all on the line in the ring and now he's doing it with his check book. He truly has the love that is needed to be successful, I only hope he finds the talent to go along with it. With Kanemura and Shinzaki, I believe he could have a good start. Pushing Shinzaki I think would be his best bet, and trying to get him to carry the initial load for WMF, because obviously Ezaki can not physically do so or he would, seems to be the best way to go. Mr.Gannosuke has talent but has always seemed to me to be over-pushed, not that Fuyuki wasn't or anything, but FMW I believe had political misdirection that hindered its progress. Shinzaki is a top notch performer, can get the crowd behind him, and put on tremendous matches. Now if he could only maintain that and stay loyal to the company, which he has done friendship wise so far, he could become a huge, huge star and put WMF over big time. Gannosuke has been friends for a long time with Ezaki, and it has really boosted his career, now if he could stick with doing what he does best, mic work, and let the ring talent head-line, WMF will be better off. Good luck WMF, and hopefully one day Ezaki will return to the ring, and maybe lay off some of those Firebird splashes, but knowing his passion, he may never not put it all on the line. I'm thankful I have been able to see the man in action and believe he deserves much success with his new promotion.

HI everybody, I'm Tony and I'm new to this board and 'relatively' new to the world of puroresu. I've been obsessing over FMW for a month now, trying to get my hands on as much as possible. I'm very, very excited that Eiji has jumped back into tghe business in ANY capacity and am looking forward to the rebirth of the FMW ethos in WMF! My favorite FMWer is W*ING Kanemura (especially when he teamed with Gannosuke-WOW!), as well as Hayabusa (am I alone in admiring the 'H' gimmick?), and Onryo.

Well thanks a bunch, guys!

You don't need to post twice, that just annoys everybody. This forum is one of the more serious forums on the Net, with the emphasis clearly on discussion and querey.

The members here are keen to help newbies, but, we won't often tolerate gus who consider themselves authorities on wrestling and mouth off without considering the opinions of others (you seem to be OK in this respect) or guys who flood theboard with rubbish (you also seem to lackthe desire to do this). Other than that, welcome aboard. We often have very good discussions here.

I'm notmuch of a FMW fan myself, but should you be interestedin learning about New Japan, All Japan or the shoot-style leagues, I'll be happy to help.

My bad on the double post! One time only!
I'm into pretty much all the leagues I've seen.
Here's a quickie:
What is the story behind Mutoh's "Kokushi Muso" persona? I heard that it was brief, but nothing about the reasoning for it.
Oh yeah, let's say I'm watching satellite TV. Anyone know when and what stations NJPW or NOAH are shown?
Thanks alot people.

Nice to see Hayabusa and Gannosuke team up in this new wrestling promotion. Hopefully a couple of American stars will help launch it right, aka, Terry Funk and Dory Funk, Jr.

ElGringo

Kokushi-muso originates from when Mutoh first shaved his head; many people asked how he would do Great Muta; he said it wouldn't work with him being bald, and so he would create a new 'darkside of Mutoh' character. Kokushi (which means 'Dark Angel' in Japanese) is a character Mutoh first debuted teaming with fellow BATT member Jinsei Shinzaki, with Shinzaki as Hakushi ('Pure Angel').

Unless you are watching Japanese TV, there's no way to pick up New Japan, All Japan or whatever. (Except in Taiwan, where NOAH airs).
